I wrote this for my husband on his 33rd birthday
Thirty three years ago today
The cosmos sent a gift my way
It was formed in the heavens
Like the stars up above
It was something I wanted so badly
It was someone to love
I was only a youngster
At the age of thirteen
But I believed in miracles
In things unseen
My heart would cry out
For someone to hold
To cherish and honor
And tell them their gold
Years passed by
Lessons were learned
I had to love many
And sometimes get burned
But it was only in preparation
I was honing my skill
For a love without separation
With a freedom of will
It was all for a reason
The timing of God
Then came the season
That I finally met Rob
I knew in an instant
That this man I just met
Was the one that I prayed for
My heart did not forget
Things dead within me
Came back to life
I let go of the burden
And all of the strife
Years have passed
Since that first day
And no matter what happens
I won’t go away
I called you to me
With the love from inside
To honor and cherish
